The two GEN-D CODE volumes on a wooden desk

A decision is not a moment. It is a process.

The GEN-D CODE – Decision Genome is a method developed by Antonio Spiezia from more than thirty-five years of international professional experience.

It starts from a simple idea: a decision is never the product of a single factor. It results from a process in which what we observe, the way we evaluate the situation, the understanding we build of it and, finally, the action we decide to take all interact.

The GEN-D CODE seeks to make this process visible, structured and open to analysis.

  1. Observation

Understand the situation and identify the relevant elements.

  2. Evaluation

Evaluate the observed elements according to their relevance, their weight and their significance in the decision.

  3. Comprehension

Bring together the observed and evaluated elements to build a coherent view of the situation.

  4. Action

Turn the analysis into a coherent decision that is fully owned.

A method born of experience

The model analyses the path of a decision, its influences, its possible distortions and its consequences. It does not seek to provide a “right decision” automatically, but to help understand and structure the path that leads to action.

The GEN-D CODE is the result of long international professional experience and of observing the mechanisms that lead experienced people to different decisions when faced with comparable situations.

AAction IIdentity Alignment SD Decisional Attunement

From action to Decisional Attunement

The process of observation, evaluation and understanding identifies the most coherent action. Identifying it does not yet mean carrying it out.

Decisional Attunement emerges when the chosen action is consistent with the decision-maker’s identity. It is the result of this alignment, rather than an additional stage of the process.
